Two's Company
Featuring Pete Simkins on piano and Roy Bower on trumpet and cornet, two friends who have worked together since the 1970s accompanying such jazz legends as Bud Freeman, Ruby Braff, Billy Butterfield and Wild Bill Davison. Tonight they will be performing some swinging mainstream jazz based around the ‘Great American Songbook’ and giving a substantial nod to Louis, Bix and Jelly Roll.

Named after their founder John Chamberlain (who sadly died in 2006), the J.C. Big Band under the musical direction of Tony Shepherd and containing some of Gloucestershire’s premier musicians perform from an extensive repertoire going right back to the time of Buddy Rich and Maynard Ferguson up to present day. A great night for big band connoisseurs!
